Just Past the Point of Breaking is a heart-wrenching, yet euphoric track. It is a melody-driven masterpiece, which cascades between topics of divinity and collapse. A subversive and smooth rhythm section tightens the sound as a whole, allowing Ross Leighton's voice to saturate the listener focus. His voice is as powerful as ever, exhibiting the whimsical intensity of sound that the band have become renowned for over the past years. The track is gorgeous in every way - evoking an overwhelming mix of emotions that only Fatherson can achieve.
"Are we too late? Did we miss the boat?"
Their new video, released May 11th, is one of the band's favourites from their forthcoming album, Open Book. The cinematography in Just Past the Point of Breaking filters an apparent gloom in each scene; making this video equally as triumphant as the song it illustrates. The story exhibits an honest depiction of the tenderness of love and what it means to have lost. If you thought Fatherson couldn't possibly make you greet any more than they already have, then you are wrong. Just Past the Point of Breaking is just exceptional.
